Behind the Scenes

Two native Quebecois Francophones came together—and became great friends—on the set of Alibi, Inc. Writer/Director Grégoire Bédard met lead actor (and VFS Acting for Film & Television graduate) Dany Papineau in the casting process, and the two continue to collaborate over two years later. Papineau says, “His vision of the film and the characters was very clear.”

Film Production at Vancouver Film School

Students in the one-year Film Production program at VFS, mentored by respected film professionals, learn filmmaking from top to bottom while they direct, produce, write, shoot, design, and edit short dramas and documentaries that become their calling cards in the industry.

Student films made at VFS have premiered at major festivals around the world, including Cannes, Tribeca, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, and graduates have been honored at the Emmys and Independent Spirit Awards.
